The Fast Set longnet system is a very simple, fast and effective way to set a long net. A 100 yd longnet can be run out and set in approx 2 minutes and will take only 5 minutes to pick up.
We use only the best materials.
The frame that holds the long net is made of 6mm tensile rod that is powder coated to give a smooth finish.
The poles are 40” high, Lightweight Tensile steel tube, Tapering from 3/8 - 5/8 with solid stainless steel points welded in. The whole pole is then Powder coated painted, The top of the poles are shod with rubber ferrules this enables the poles to be pushed into the ground with comfort.
The net is 15 ½ mesh’s deep double knotted with a double selvedge. The mesh size is 2 1/8 knot to knot.
When set the top line is approx 24” from the ground, in between any two poles.
100yd set net is made up of approx 200yds of net, this gives the net 100% bag, and this enables at least 4 rabbits to be entangled in any section of the net (between two poles).
Lines are 2mm braided polypropylene anti-twist. This allows the net to slide freely.
The bag that holds the net is made from waterproof lightweight DPM nylon coated material.
This is not a heavy system, a 100yd 6z Fast Set complete system weights approx 7kilos
To set net
Undo securing string that holds net in bag.
Place webbing strap over your head so that the strap is across the back of your neck, and the bag and frame hang in front of you.
Undo both elasticated strings that secure the poles to the frame.
Take the first pole (this has a white marker on it) and place it into the ground, on your left hand side.
Walk slowly backwards holding both hands horizontally with fingers outstretched over the poles, as the net runs out of the bag the second pole will raise out of the frame ready to be grasped and pushed into the ground keeping the lines tight.
This operation is repeated until the final pole is set.
To pick up net:
Place webbing strap over your head so that the bag and frame hang in front of you.
Pick up the last pole that you put down and place in the frame’s hangers, walk slowly forwards feeding the net into the bag with your hands.
When you have fed the net into the bag up to the second pole pick this pole up and place in hangers, repeat operation for four to five poles, thereafter as you pick the poles up place them behind poles already picked up, as this secures the poles in place.
Tie the elasticated string around both ends of the poles with a bow knot.
This is only a brief explanation of how to set and pick up you Fast Set long net, and as action speak louder than words we will send you a free DVD (approx 30mins) with every Fast Set net system purchased. The DVD also shows some longnetting at night, the correct way to dispatch rabbits in the net and more.
